Round stones

Our standard for size gradations is one tenth of a millimeter with a tolerance range of five hundredths of a millimeter. For example: 2.00-2.05 mm, 2.10-2.15 mm, 2.20-2.25 mm, and so on. Other tolerance ranges can be produced on request.

Shapes

All non-round shapes, such as square, trapezoid, oval etc., are custom-cut to order according to specifications, such as exact size, height, or a drawing with angle-measurements.

Color

For an order, the color should also be specified. We generally classify rubies into three color tones:

  1. pink-red
  2. red
  3. dark red

Clarity

It is also important to specify the preferred quality, i.e., the clarity. Rubies can be divided into countless grades. However, as we work only in the highest quality range, we have decided on just two grades:

  • A: Inclusions are not visible to the naked eye or barely visible. The stones appear clear and clean.
  • B: The stones still shine, inclusions are clearly visible under magnification.

Treatments

Rubies are typically heat-treated to enhance their color by reducing the violet component, while chemical additives are used to increase transparency.
